Being winemaker in Fenouillèdes means living with passion is being in love with a beautiful land that makes us so well in giving us fabulous wines, is to love their wines and have the pleasure of sharing the fun making them discover and enjoy all over France and Europe.
Being a winemaker, it's a profession with many facets: work in the vineyards, winemaking, packaging and marketing, a business can be difficult and you really have a passion to always have the strength to believe.
Building on 16 years of experience in cooperative winery in 2003, we decided to cross the course and make wine at home. Our farm has grown over the years taken into purchases and rent of old vine Carignan and Grenache and Muscat, and plantations, very early, Syrah, Merlot and Chardonnay.
Today we own a vineyard quality and variety of grapes allows us to develop a full range of wines.
We work with family. Our oldest son, Baptiste, graduated (Bac Pro Viti Œno) and settled with us on the production side-vinification. The second, César, manages marketing.
We hope that they too can continue to make the most of our land so generous. This year 2012 is our first year of certification in organic agriculture.
The vineyard work is done respecting the earth, the wine with long maceration, pumping over and punching down, temperature controls to preserve the intensity of fruitiness.
After tasting, the wines are assembled to be raised either in vats or in oak barrels.
And the results are there ...
Maury is our regular medalist in the competition of Independent Winegrowers of France and the Concours Général Agricole. But the best reward is the smile and eyes that sparkle with happiness tasters always won over by this fleshy wine, fresh, fruity and crisp with aromas of cherries.
